K-pop icons 2NE1 reunited in public for the first time in years on Friday (May 17) with a special live stream commemorating their 10th anniversary.

The girl group’s members CL, Minzy, Park Bom and Sandara Park took to Instagram live to celebrate a decade since their first performance of debut single “Fire” back in 2009. Released on May 6 of that year, the quartet performed the song for the first time on SBS' Inkigayo weekly music show on May 17.

The foursome got together to have dinner and livestsreamed part of it, greeting fans with their catchphrase, “Wassup we 2NE1." During the celebration, the members of 2NE1 ate cake, and later, the members posted pictures of themselves having fun and getting emotional on Instagram. They also all shared handwritten messages commemorating the anniversary.

One of the most prominent K-pop girl groups of the past decade, the act made history by becoming the first Korean act to break into the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 with the release of their Crush album in 2014.

2NE1 last performed publicly together at at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards, where the rest of the members joined CL on stage after her solo set, after which they performed “Fire” and “I Am The Best.” The group formally disbanded in 2016 after a lengthy hiatus, but the reunion was greeted with love by fans from around the world, and the phrase “2NE1” trended worldwide for hours following the Instalive event.

Back in 2009, the four of us in 2NE1 were excited on what the world had to offer. We didn’t expect that we would be given the best fans in the world. We didn’t expect that we would have fans in many parts of the world. To countries who don’t speak and understand our language. We are very grateful that Blackjacks embraced us. And because Blackjacks were everywhere, we were able to go to different countries. To places we only see on maps. 10 years later, you are still here for us. Through joys and tears. Even when we had drastic hairstyles and outrageous stage costumes, you still loved and supported us. I can’t believe how much you mean to us — 4 Korean girls who just wanted to perform onstage. We can’t thank you enough for the love. How we all wish we can thank each one of you and give you a hug. But I hope this message would be enough for now to show you how much Blackjacks mean to us. Thank you. I love you.
