Japanese Star Dean Fujioka Will Bring Tour to Hong Kong & Taiwan in 2019
Japanese actor and singer Dean Fujioka will bring his 1st Asia Tour 2019 "Born to Make History" to Hong Kong and Taipei on April 20 and 27, 2019.
Fujioka was born in Fukushima, Japan. After completing college in the U.S., he traveled to Hong Kong and was discovered by a talent scout to become a model. He made his acting debut in the Hong Kong movie August Story and was quickly spotted by Taiwanese TV producer Angie Chai Chi-ping, who invited him to play various roles in her popular TV series, including Goku Dou High School, Corner with Love, Miss No Good and Just You.
After spending many years in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Fujioka can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
In 2013, Dean returned to Japan and joined Amuse. In 2015, he won wide acclaim with his appearance as a Japanese historical figure in the morning drama series Here Comes Asa and brought about a fever called Godai-sama Boom, the role that earned him best supporting actor in the 9th Tokyo Drama Awards.
He also made impressive appearances in dramas Please Love the Useless Me and May I Blackmail You? He recently played the leading role in The Count of Monte-Cristo: Great Revenge and won the best actor award in the CONFiDENCE Award Drama Prize.
Dean Fujioka also has a successful music career. He released songs that he composed, wrote and produced in his first album Cycle in 2016, and has released four singles and two albums to-date.
His recent singles include "History Maker," theme song of the anime Yuri!!! on Ice, and "Echo," theme song of The Count of Monte-Cristo: Great Revenge. In 2018, Fujioka went on his first national tour of Japan, History In the Making 2018, playing eight shows across six cities, amassing over 20,000 audiences to his shows.
In 2019, Fujioka will bring his music outside of Japan for the first time by adding Hong Kong and Taiwan to the tour dates. This will mark his return to the early stages of his career, where he plans to make history with fans who have supported him all along.
"This tour will be of a larger scale, where I will travel to cities that I have never been to before," he told Billboard Radio China. "To all fans of Dean Fujioka, no matter where you are from or when did you start supporting me, I would like to travel to you and show my gratitude to you because every one of you are making history with me. I feel so excited about this journey. Together to the next level."
