Japanese singer-songwriter Ayaka will be releasing "Glory," her talked-about collaboration with rapper KREVA, on Aug. 31 as a digital-only single.

"Glory" was a special collab performed only one time last September at KREVA's 908 FESTIVAL 2017. Ayaka explains that when she was first invited to perform at the festival, she felt honored to be included in the lineup and wanted to approach the veteran rapper with something that would make fans happy.

She came up with the melody and sent KREVA the demo 10 days before the festival, suggesting they perform the song together onstage. The KICK THE CAN CREW rapper promptly wrote his verse in a day and sent it back.

"I was delighted," Ayaka recalls. "It was really exciting because my first song in the hip-hop genre had begun moving towards realization. … He's an amazing rapper, of course, but also gifted in many other ways, so the collaborative process was very inspiring, and I learned a lot."

Lucky fans who witnessed the one-time-only performance spread the word on social media, and those who didn't get a chance to see it begged for the unlikely collab to be recorded. But the song was never performed again and remained unreleased until now.

Ayaka and KREVA decided to release the song as a digital-only single after receiving many requests for it to be performed again at this year's 908 FESTIVAL. The song will be released to coincide with the event set for Aug. 31.
