EXO's Lay Zhang to Make First U.S. Solo Appearance at Lollapalooza

Chinese star Lay Zhang will be joining Alan Walker during the DJ's set at Lollapalooza on Friday (Aug. 3), marking the EXO member’s first solo festival appearance in the U.S.

Walker took to Instagram to reveal the collab on Wednesday, writing, “Happy to announce that [Zhang] will be joining me on the Lollapalooza show in Chicago this Friday!” He did not say in what capacity Zhang would appear on set in, but hinted to fans that they are “up to something good! What do you think it is?”

Zhang, also known as Zhang Yixing -- or by his momomynous stage name Lay -- rose to fame as a member of K-pop boy band EXO, of which he remains a part of; he last appeared in the group’s 2016 single “Lotto.”

In 2015, the star shifted his focus into the Chinese market and has become a popular actor and television personality along with his career as a singer-songwriter. He has released several solo albums, and most recently put out his Winter Special Gift EP last December. He topped the China V Chart with his single "Lose Control" in 2016. Zhang is reportedly working on an upcoming studio album.

Walker's set takes place at the at the Chicago music festival on Friday at Perry's.
