W Hotels and Mixcloud Bring Future Rising to China
Designed from the ground up to identify, cultivate and celebrate emerging artists and creative leaders from around the world, Future Rising's next stop is China, set to take place in a trendsetting hotel nestled in the heart of the city in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The free Hong Kong event this past Saturday (July 21) celebrated the partnership of W Hotel Worldwide and global streaming platform Mixcloud.
This coming Saturday (July 28), in the Shanghai edition of Future Rising, BBC Radio 1 DJ and producer Benji B joins an all-star cast at W Shanghai: The Bund. Benji B will collaborate with Future Rising Chinese MC Bohan Phoenix to create an exclusive two-track EP and documentary.
"As soon as you enter any W Hotel around the world, it is instantly obvious that the brand is passionate about music," said Kazim Rashid, creative director of Mixcloud. "For us at Mixcloud, it's imperative that we only partner with like-minded, authentic brands who not only love music, but take the time to cultivate young, rising talent."
"This second volume of our Future Rising partnership does just that, asking young creatives to reimagine 'Wonderland' -- their utopian vision of tomorrow -- through their art," Rashid told Billboard Radio China in Hong Kong.
Bruce Ryde of Marriott International said, "Music has been integral to the W brand since its inception. W Hotels is committed to fostering future creative leaders through our brand's passion points of music, fashion, design and fuel. Our partnership with Mixcloud is just one way we bring the brand's new/next vision to our guests to life."
