J-pop girl group <a href="/music/SKE48">SKE48</a>'s new single, "Ikinari Punchline," blasts in at No. 1 on the latest Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart dated July 2 to 8.

The song, featuring Jurina Matsui -- winner of the recent <a href="/music/AKB48">AKB48</a> "global general election" -- in the center position sold 272,666 CDs in its first week of sales and took the top spot on this week's chart powered mostly by physical sales (No. 1), look-ups (No. 4) and Twitter mentions (No. 4).

DA PUMP's "U.S.A." rises 4-2 this week, maintaining last week's positions in downloads (No. 2) and streaming (No. 1) as well as logging its fourth week at No. 1 for video views. The viral music video was viewed around 7.5 million times this week, over 2 million times more than last week's 5.4 million.

Aside from SKE48's single, this week was relatively slow in terms of overall physical sales, which has resulted in <a href="/music/Kenshi-Yonezu">Kenshi Yonezu</a> charting three songs in the top 10: "Lemon" at No. 3, "LOSER" at No. 5, and "Uchiage Hanabi" at No. 7. The 27-year-old artist also has four other songs charting on the Hot 100, with "Peace Sign" at No. 29, "Eine Kleine" at No. 42, "Haiiro to Ao" featuring Masaki Suda at No. 44, and "Orion" at No. 93.

These tracks are all powered by downloads and video views, meaning the popularity of the No. 1 hitmaker of the first half of 2018 in Japan isn't waning at all, and his domination of the charts will continue for awhile.

The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, radio airplay, Twitter mentions, YouTube and GYAO! video views, Gracenote look-ups and audio streams from Apple Music, AWA, Google Play Music, KKBOK, LINE MUSIC, Rakuten Music, Recochoku provided by Gfk Japan, as well as streaming counts based on lyrics displayed on PetitLyrics.
