The Pillows

Veteran Japanese rockers the pillows are set to drop their 22nd studio album, REBROADCAST, on Sept. 19.

The three-member alternative rock band will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on Sept. 16, 2019, and the new album will kick off the milestone year. The band called its 20th anniversary-related items "LATE BLOOMER SERIES," the 25th "NEVER ENDING STORY," and the 30th will be called "THANK YOU, MY HIGHLIGHT." REBROADCAST will be the first release in the 30th anniversary series.

The band released the 10-song track list and cover art of the upcoming set, as well as a new photo of the band.

They kicked off their headlining U.S. tour in Boston Tuesday (July 10) with their labelmate band noodles, hitting New York, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco before wrapping up in Los Angeles. The tour sold out a few hours after it was announced, so the venues were changed to ones with larger capacity wherever possible and new shows were added to the schedule.

Live footage from this tour will be included in the limited first edition of the upcoming album, as well as the music video for "Ningendomo," the third track on the set.
