The Summer Sonic 2018 Billboard Japan Stage website opened Friday (June 8), featuring the lineup for the two-day event set for Aug. 18 and 19 at the annual urban music festival.

After hosting the "Billboard Japan Party!" at the Summer Sonic Tokyo Beach Stage for four years from 2014, Billboard Japan will produce its own stage next to the Marine Stage at this year's festival and present a diverse lineup featuring both up-and-coming artists and timeless acts across various genres.

West Coast singer-songwriter Ned Doheny and Average White Band's Hamish Stuart will perform a special collaborative set on Saturday, Aug. 18. Other acts that day include Nick Heyward from the '80s New Wave band Haircut One Hundred and The Beatniks featuring Yukihiro Takahashi of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) and Keiichi Suzuki from Moonriders.

The Sunday (Aug. 19) lineup features singer/actor MAX, rising London artist Cosmo Pyke and British singer-songwriter Jess Glynne, featured on Clean Bandit's hit song "Rather Be."

Rising stars of the Asian music scene will also be featured on both days, including popular singer-songwriter Crowd Lu and the award-winning rock band No Party For Cao Dong from Taiwan on Saturday, and the bilingual four-member Chinese hip-hop group Higher Brothers and Korean singer-songwriter Zion. T, dubbed the "Usher of Korea," on Sunday.

Summer Sonic Platinum ticket-holders will have access to the exclusive areas beside the stage for a more relaxing viewing experience.

The Beatniks, Nick Heyward, Ned Doheny & Hamish Stuart, and Cosmo Pyke are also scheduled to perform solo headlining shows at Billboard Live Tokyo and Osaka in August.
