Spotify Japan announced the lineup for the fifth installment of Early Noise Night, a music event showcasing rising acts that fans can check out for an admission price of only 1,000 yen (about $9 USD).

Spotify launched in Japan in 2016, and the music streaming service has since become an important platform for up-and-coming artists to connect with listeners around the world. For example, the Japanese hitmakers AmPm went from releasing their first song on Spotify in March 2017 to performing a year later at Ultra Miami.

From a global standpoint, the streaming giant has previously helped launch the careers of Lorde from New Zealand and Shawn Mendes from Canada. Both were teenagers when their songs gained momentum on Spotify and have gone on to become superstars.

Early Noise Night is one of the ways Spotify shines light on new talent and has previously featured acts including Taichi Mukai, WONK and rapper Chico Carlito.

Vol. 5 will showcase Hitsujibungaku, the three-piece band that released its second EP in February; the singer-songwriter Ayano Kaneko, who released the seven-inch single "Home Alone" in March; SPiCYSOL, the four-member band of "surf beat music" currently touring domestically; and Domico, the two-piece rockers who just returned from a six-stop U.S. tour, kicking off with a showcase performance at SXSW.

Spotify's Early Noise Night Vol. 5 is set for May 16 at Daikanyama Space Odd in Tokyo.
