Keyakizaka46's First Album Debuts at No. 1 in Japan, Selling 277,901 Copies

From their first single, "Silent Majority," to their fourth, "Fukyouwaon," Keyakizaka46 has enjoyed a string of long-lasting hits on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. And, last week (July 19), they released their much-anticipated first album Masshiro Na Mono Wa Yogoshitakunaru, which blasts in at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Top Albums Sales Chart for the week ending July 23.

This massive release containing a total of 40 tracks sold 226,223 copies over the first three days and went on to sell more than 50,000 copies for a grand total of 277,901 copies in its first week. These figures place the 20-member girl group solidly in the No. 1 spot on the latest albums chart, outselling its competitors by a wide margin.

At No. 2 is Flame of Love, the second solo mini-album by Taemin from SHINee, which sold 59,438 copies in its first week.

Yuzu's Yuzu Iroha 1997-2017 comes in at No. 26 this week with 2,786 copies sold. The 20th anniversary best-of album by the superstar folk-pop duo has sold a total of 281,444 copies to date and is fast approaching the 300,000 mark.
