Kriesha Chu shares her excitement to perform in Manila, Philippines, at the Super Pop Con 2017 news conference.

When a preview of the song "Trouble" was flashed on Mall of Asia Arena's screen, the Mission I: Super Pop Con 2017 audience was a mixture of cheers and collectively held breaths, anticipating the next performer in the lineup: Kriesha Chu.

Aside from being the only female and solo act among K-Pop boy groups B.A.P, BTOB, B1A4, B.I.G., Pentagon and VIXX, Filipino fans were looking forward to the teen singer with whom they share the same roots.

"Actually, I was born here in [Makati] Manila, so it feels really nice to be back again," Chu shared at a news conference before the July 7 show. "The last time that I came to the Philippines, I was still a trainee. So this time, coming back as a solo artist feels really great."

Chu -- a Filipina-American singer and former K-Pop Star 6 contestant -- also revealed that she prepared a special surprise for the audience.

She stepped onstage wearing a red outfit that was as bright as the smile she carried throughout her performance of her debut single, "Trouble."

After jokingly showing the audience her "surprise" finger-heart gesture, she went on to reveal the real surprise that she prepared especially for her Manila visit, singing a sweet yet equally emotional rendition of Bituin Escalante's "Kung Ako Na Lang Sana".
