Billboard has your exclusive look at the iconic songs the top 12 will sing on Sunday night's (April 18) American Idol episode, which will pay tribute to Oscar-nominated classics.

The dozen semi-finalists will sing their favorite Academy Award-worthy tracks for a chance to advance into the top nine in the two-hour showdown on ABC, kicking off at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Their choices range from the rousing anthem in Hugh Jackman's The Greatest Showman to a Dirty Dancing favorite, a modern James Bond theme, a beloved Barba Streisand standard and, of course, Judy Garland's trip "Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz.

The very special episode will open with judge Lionel Richie's performance of his soaring 1985 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 ballad "Say You, Say Me" from Taylor Hackford's Russian ballet defection drama White Nights.

Monday's (April 19) episode will mark the first time 10 of last year's lucky Idol finalists will be performing in the Idol dome at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, since they had to sing from their homes in 2020 because of COVID restrictions; the performers will be vying for a chance to join this season's top 10.
