Gianna Isabella performs in front of the Judges on American Idol airing Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2016.

American Idol experienced some technical difficulties early in its Wednesday (Jan. 13) night broadcast just as '80s pop singer Brenda K. Starr's daughter was about to audition for the judges.

The sound cut out as Gianna Isabella spoke to the judges and revealed who her mother was. As the clip segued to the beginning of Starr's 1988 hit, "I Still Believe," the audience could hear the song, but not Starr relaying the back story of how she used to rehearse in the same dance studio that trained Jennifer Lopez before she became a Fly Girl on In Living Color.

Audiences also didn't get the chance to hear a sweet conversation between mother and daughter prior to her entering the audition room.

Luckily, the audio righted itself just in time for the 15-year old Jackson, NJ student to wow Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban with "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals.  Idol Worship has the full clip for those that didn't get to hear the segment in its entirety.
