American Idol alum Nick Fradiani released a music video for his coronation song, "Beautiful Life," this week.

"This is so surreal...MY FIRST OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO HAS BEEN LAUNCHED," the season 14 winner announced on his Facebook page. "Thank you so much for giving me the chance to do what I love. I'm so grateful for all of your support. Go check it out! We did it."

Although the song was previously released as the official FIFA Women's World Cup video, the new clip kicks off the Connecticut native's post-Idol journey.

In the video, Fradiani hangs out with friends on what is his last evening before setting out to make his musical dreams come true. The group sneaks past a fence and hangs out in an abandoned building, gets pizza at a local parlor, and caps off the night with beers before saying heartfelt goodbyes.

The song -- written by fellow Connecticut native Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional, Rykeyz and Ayanna Elese -- was performed on the 2015 Idol finale.

"This kid is the real thing and he is from my home state," Carrabba told Billboard.  "I can't believe the way things fall into place sometimes."
