'American Idol' Finale: Jax Gets Closure Rocking Out With Steven Tyler

Jax and Steve Tyler sprawl across the judges' table during the American Idol season 14 finale.

In a touching and humanizing moment, the season 14 finalist thanked her devotees for giving her an "epic platform."

He may not be in the judge's chair anymore, and she may not have won,  but that didn’t stop Steven Tyler and Jax from laying it all out on the table at Wednesday night’s American Idol finale.

The Aerosmith frontman returned to his former TV home in fine form, first debuting his intense and dramatic new country single, “Love is Your Name,” riling up the Dolby Theatre audience and Jennifer Lopez, who stood up for the entire performance.

The vocal fireworks didn’t stop there as the band teased a little bit of Aerosmith’s “Walk this Way,” leading the way for East Brunswick, New Jersey’s Jax to emerge from the audience and trade licks on Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.”

Jax and Tyler complemented each other on stage, and with the 19-year-old vocalist slinking up to the judges' table then laying atop it with Tyler at her side for a thrilling finish.

Then, in a touching and humanizing moment, Jax addressed the Hollywood crowd to replay that while she was "feeling fantastic," she "didn't get much closure" the previous night when she was eliminated.

Added Jax: "I want to say thank you to the fans and the judges for giving me this epic platform."
