MiC LOWRY's cover of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," released today (Dec. 1) will make your troubles really seem miles away for at least three minutes and 27 seconds.

The five-man Liverpool R&B group -- Akia Jones, Ben Sharples, Delleile Ankrah, Kaine Ofoeme and Michael Welch -- first made a name for themselves by acoustically covering songs by R&B icons such as Boyz II Men, Usher, Destiny's Child and more. Now having released their own original material, most recently with seven-track EP MOOD in October, the guys decided to do a cover of Christmas classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" (originally sung by Judy Garland in 1944).

“We grew up listening to many of our favorite artists sing Christmas songs,” Sharples said via press release. “Because of this, we felt inspired to do the same. Around the holiday period every year we try and record something new for our fans, and so, this time around we decided we wanted to lay down a proper recording. Not only that, we all love Christmas!”

Each of the five lends his warm voice to the track, trading off verses. The song has always been slow in nature, in the original and the thousands of times it has been covered, but MiC LOWRY truly lays it on thick. Imagine yourself looking out foggy windows at the frigid snow, and their voices are your hot cocoa, your favorite blanket and fuzzy socks wrapped in harmony.

And in the theme of warmth, the group's relationship with Christmas is described in a press release by Ofoeme: “It’s all about family to us. Christmas means spending valuable time with our loved ones. We are usually busy throughout the year touring, recording, rehearsing and promoting our music, so Christmas is extra special because it means we get to spend time with the people closest to us.”

In a text to Billboard, Sharples explained that the guys chose to cover "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" of all the Christmas songs in the history of the world because, well, they couldn't think of a better option -- given their history with the song.

"We performed this song at a charity Carol Concert in the Liverpool Cathedral a few years back," he texted. "It was a collaboration with the Liverpool string quartet and a local choir, Sense of Sound... It went down a storm! Every time I watch the video back, I get goosebumps."

Based on first reactions from fans, it seems ML made the right choice, and the goosebumps are spreading.

The group will perform their largest headlining show to date on March 16 -- rescheduled from Nov. 25, due to dedicating their time to pushing MOOD and wanting to put on the best show possible -- at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.
