With Halloween just over a week away, a few celebrities decided to get an early start on the competition. On Sunday (Oct. 22), singer Jason Derulo posted to his Instagram the intricate process needed to transform himself into the Game of Thrones Night King for Maxim's Halloween party. The lad mag's annual Halloween bash took place in Los Angeles on Saturday night (Oct. 21).

"@maximmag Halloween party prep," Derulo captioned his timelapse Instagram video. "Night king #whitewalkers #gameofthrones."

Derulo performed his 2013 hit "Trumpets" while fully in costume, according to a post from a model named Charly Swiger-Peterson who was in attendance.

Also over the weekend, Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum showed up to his daughter's preschool Halloween festival wearing a purple unicorn costume with rainbow accents. His wife, actress/dancer Jenna Dewan-Tatum made sure all of her Instagram followers had the opportunity to see her husband up-close via her Instagram story, where Channing's unicorn horn was inhibited by the car's ceiling. Dewan-Tatum didn't shy away from dressing up, attending the school gathering as a self-described nature fairy.

And not to be neglected: Dennis Graham, father to Drake and cover star of his son's latest album More Life, also attended the Maxim Halloween party. Graham was dressed as Don Diego "aka Zorro."

Drake, meanwhile, was also busy on Instagram Sunday night (Oct. 22) but not at all focused on Halloween. Instead, the rapper was nostalgic for a different festivity: his Bar Mitzvah
