Brandi Carlile Delivers Breathtaking Performance Of 'The Joke' at 2019 Grammys

Brandi Carlile is the most-nominated woman at this year's Grammy Awards, and her performance proved that she is no joke.

The country singer and recent Billboard cover star sang her Grammy-winning hit "The Joke" toward the end of the 2019 broadcast Sunday night (Feb. 10), giving the powerful track everything she has and more to the Grammy stage. As the song's lyrics scribbled across the screen behind her, Carlile delivered a striking vocal performance that had everyone on their feet (and even got Maren Morris screaming "Fuck yeah!").

Carlile didn't miss a note as she belted out "The Joke," and she knew it too -- the singer couldn't help but jump up and down as soon as she finished, shamelessly (and rightfully) celebrating an absolutely stellar performance.

Brandi had plenty to celebrate before the 2019 Grammys even officially began, as she won three awards on the pre-telecast show: best Americana album for By The Way I Forgive You; and two for "The Joke," best American roots song and best American roots performance.

Carlile was also nominated for three of the night's biggest honors, album of the year, record of the year and song of the year.
