Who Should Be Nominated for Song of the Year at 2019 Grammy Awards? Vote!
The 61st Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 will see some serious competition in the song of the year category. While the official nominations will be announced on Dec. 5, artists like Maroon 5, Ariana Grande, Drake, BTS and more have provided some of this year's hottest contenders.
While last year saw Bruno Mars' hit "That's What I Like" take the title, fans are excited to see a longer list of options this year, after the news of nominations expanding from five to eight in major categories -- including song of the year.
Remember: The difference between record of the year and song of the year at the Grammys is that song of the year is awarded to the writers of the song. According to Grammy.com, "The Record Of The Year category recognizes the artist’s performance as well as the overall contributions of the producer(s), recording engineer(s) and/or mixer(s) if other than the artist. The Song Of The Year category recognizes the songwriter(s)."
Billboard is focusing on song of the year nominations with an extensive list of hits, including Drake's "God's Plan," Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry," BTS' "Fake Love" and more that could end up competing for the Golden Gramophone.
