The theme for country star Kelsea Ballerini’s Grammy night? Sheer and sexy. After walking the carpet in a nude, embellished Ines Di Santo sheath dress and bodysuit, Ballerini chose a colorful Nicolas Jebran pantsuit to perform alongside Lukas Graham.

The best new artist nominee teamed up with the Danish trio performed a mash-up of their hits “Peter Pan” and “7 Years,” which allowed Ballerini to put a unique spin on her signature song. “Every time I’ve performed ‘Peter Pan,’ I’ve worn a big, princess-y dress,” Ballerini tells Billboard. “This is a different version of the song, so we wanted to make it feel different [style]-wise, too. It’s sparkly, and the structure is really beautiful and more mature.”

Stylist Krista Roser searched for something that would be completely different from the romantic dresses she wore for the “Peter Pan” video. “This [Jebran] jumpsuit still has the sparkle and color you may be used to from Kelsea,” Roser says. “But it shows a little more of an edge to incorporate the performance as a whole.” The Lebanese designer is known for his intricate work, and this pantsuit is no exception. “I love the beading and colors of this jumpsuit,” Roser adds, "and the sheer pieces still allow some skin to show.”

Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan chose a nude lip and a dark brown smoky eye to complement the bold outfit. “I wanted to smoke it out and go for a sultry look for the performance,” Dennihan said. She applied Chanel Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur in No 1 Nude to get the perfect matte lip.
