Five albums into her ever-blooming career, Demi Lovato received her first Grammy nomination for her latest LP, Confident. While she has clearly evolved as an artist since her debut in 2008, Lovato has focused less on the goal of earning a Grammy nod and more on making her music the best it can be.
"Whenever you make an album you don’t think about the end result, you’re thinking about the process," says Lovato, who is up for best pop vocal album. "And you’re putting everything into it, so to be nominated for an award for the album is just an incredible feeling and it’s really, really rewarding."
In a video for Billboard's new Grammy video series, Lovato also shared the story of finding out about her Grammy nomination (which involved excitedly telling her manager, "Shut the f--- up") as well as what it means to her to be recognized by such prestigious company.
