Fresh off his first Grammy win for best dance recording, Justin Bieber performed his No. 1 hit single "Love Yourself" before joining forces with Skrillex and Diplo for a show-stopping rendition of "Where Are U Now" at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

Bieber took the venue's circular center stage solo to play an acoustic version of the Purpose cut, drawing cheers as his voice strained with emotion during the song's chorus. As the last notes dissipated, the singer tossed aside the guitar and bounded to the main stage to join his Jack U cohorts.

The dynamic live performance featured Skrillex shredding on guitar and Diplo playing keyboard and pounding away on big band drums, flanked by a live drummer and onstage orchestrals.

While some previous dance performances have fallen flat in televised award shows, there was nothing stilted about the energetic ensemble's stage show -- which may have also succeeded in challenging the assumptions of those who don't associate electronic music with traditional musicianship.

"Diplo and Skrillex everybody!" Bieber yelled before embracing his band mates at the song's conclusion.
