It's an age-old question: which LA County beach has the best "vibe"? Sure the sun-kissed beaches off Malibu may offer the best surfing, while the boardwalk and pier in Santa Monica deliver the quintessital insta-brag, but when it comes to the laid-back beach lifestyle, nothing comes close to the South Bay.
Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach are the jewels of the South Bay, ever welcoming to visitors but embued with a local culture where a couch-surfing struggling actor can pull up a bar stool next to a sandals-clad investment banker and share stories of that day's swell before heading home on beach cruisers.
After successfully celebrating the South Bay last year with the inaugural BeachLife festival, St. Rocke owner Allen Sanford and LiveList's co-founder Rob Lissner are bringing the festival back for its second year, with Steve Miller Band in their only Southern California appearance of 2020, Counting Crows, and Ziggy Marley and Stephen Marley’s Bob Marley Celebration will headline the three-day immersive music, art, and culinary oceanside event happening May 1-3, 2020.
