Alt-rock outfit Deftones announced Monday that their genre-bending Dia De Los Deftones music festival will return to San Diego on Nov. 2, with Chvrches taking the second spot on the bill above death metal act Gojira.

However, Jamey Jasta of metal band Hatebreed was not too pleased with the lineup and took to Twitter to voice his concerns.

"Who is churches with a v and why the fuck are they playing over Gojira," Jasta wrote, ending the message with "God the music industry suckkkkks sometimes."

It didn't take long for Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry to fire back in defense, quoting Jasta's tweet and writing, "Deftones curated the lineup so I don't know how that speaks to problems with The Music Industry. I think it's important and powerful that they promote the idea of a diverse community and try to bridge gaps instead of being guided by limited, antiquated ideas about genre."

Mayberry went on to reply directly to Jasta, telling him "I saw Gojira in Glasgow years ago and have seen Deftones three times so was excited when we got asked to be on the bill. Just because someone plays or listens to 'pop music' doesn't mean they don't understand or appreciate other things," and finishing the message with a sassy GIF of Rihanna.

Continuing on his rant, Jasta added, "I'm sure they're lovely people and a popular group, I don't agree with the line up order... Metal needs to be shown more respect."
