Ride Rejoice in Lack of 'War Conditions' at Coachella

The reunited shoegaze rockers of Ride aren't used to the pleasant surroundings of California music festivals, as they shared in the Billboard lounge of Coachella.

"I'm not used to festivals like [this]," singer-guitarist Mark Gardener said dryly, noting the amiable weather and palm trees - a change from the English mega-festival Glastonbury, and its "war conditions." He added, "People got trenchfoot."

The cult heroes Ride, who formed in the late 1980s and included the future Oasis bassist Andy Bell, have been enjoying rabid fan receptions since they reformed last year. They're about to tour extensively through America and Europe. What else is next for the band? Watch and learn.
