Of Monsters and Men: Watch a Day in the Life of the Band at Governors Ball 2013

Neither rain, nor mud, nor New York traffic could keep the Icelandic group from inciting a joyous dance party on Randall's Island.

Of Monsters and Men came to New York City to perform on the first day the 2013 Governors Ball music festival, and Billboard's cameras were there to chronicle this day in the life of the Icelandic folk-poppers. Though it was exceptionally rainy, the dense mud and heavy winds weren't enough to keep members Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, Ragnar Þórhallsson, Brynjar Leifsson, Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson and Kristján Páll Kristjánsson from inciting a dance party in the middle of the messy island.

We traveled with the group from their hotel downtown in their tour bus across the FDR to the crowded catering tent on the festival grounds, right up to their epic afternoon set that featured hits "King & Lionheart," "Mountain Sound" and the double platinum-selling "Little Talks." Governors Ball caught the band towards the end of their latest U.S. tour, which wraps later this month before they play more festivals in Europe and take some well-deserved time off in the fall. Of Monsters & Men is still in the conceptual phase of its next album, which it hopes to begin in earnest later this year.
