For all of us who saw Coyote Ugly in the theater (twice), a standout was not just the film's aspirational lifestyle of boozy fun, but the pop-centric soundtrack.
Featuring a quartet of LeAnn Rimes bangers -- "Can't Fight the Moonlight," "Please Remember," "The Right Kind of Wrong" and "But I Do Love You" (all of which were written by Diane Warren), the music gave the ladies of the namesake canteen something to dance to when they took to the top of the bar, with Rimes herself strutting alongside them in the film's climactic scene.
Now, Grammy-winning producer Dave Audé has gifted us a Coyote Ugly megamix featuring all four of Rimes' hits mashed up into a dancefloor-worthy extravaganza of beats and lyrics you still remember.
“When LeAnn called me with the idea of remixing the Coyote Ugly songs, I knew it would be fun," Audé tells Billboard. "When you have four songs that include Leann Rimes, songwriter Diane Warren, and producer Trevor Horn, you’ve got the dream team, and I’d have to be crazy not to wanna join the (dance) party. Besides, Coyote Ugly is my wife’s favorite film so it’s a win-win for me!”
Give it a listen below and let yourself be transported back to one of cinema's rowdiest, sexiest, sweatiest saloons.
