Calvin Harris Says His Heart Stopped in 2014, But He's Okay Now

Calvin Harris had a great 2014. That was the year his fourth studio album, Motion, debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and set a record at the time for the most Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10 hits at once. But when Dancing Astronaut posted footage of Harris' unforgettable performances at that summer's EDC on Tuesday (May 19) writing, "can't compare to the energy during @CalvinHarris' sets in 2014," Harris dropped another fascinating tidbit about that year.

"Interesting year for me 2014, started with me knocking myself off number 1 in the UK and ended with my heart getting restarted in the ER... this sort of stuff happened in between." Harris did not elaborate on his health issue that year in the tweet -- and a spokesperson could not be reached for additional comment at press time -- but at the time he also pulled out of the MTV EMAs, with organizers saying at the time that he'd "taken ill."

The BBC News reported back then that Harris blamed "heart problems" for his absence at the awards show in a since-deleted tweet.
