Elderbrook Selects Bonobo, Peggy Gou, Mark Ronson & More for His Moody Quarantine Playlist

Eva Pentel

Currently sitting at No. 46 on the Hot Dance Electronic Songs chart, Elderbrook's latest track "Numb" is an homage to loneliness, an emotion many of us are feeling right now as social distancing keeps us at least 6 feet apart from our family and friends.

But the London-based producer born Alexander Kotz also finds unity in the shared sense of isolation, and certainly there's solace to be had in "Numb"s moody, sensual production, which lands in the niche of electronic music also occupied by artists like Rüfüs du Sol and Bob Moses.

A longtime producer, Elderbrook's profile was raised substantially via "Cola," his 2017 Grammy-nominated hit collaboration with CamelPhat. Kotz has since worked with Rudimental and Diplo and has a debut album on the horizon.

In the meantime, Elderbrook here shares 10 of the tracks that are getting him through the season of social distancing. Listen to the complete playlist below.

Caribou, "New Jade": I am a big fan of Caribou and how melodic the tracks are. And the use of samples… there’s almost a hip-hop feel to how he uses the samples.

Bonobo, "Cirrus": This is the perfect song to run to or workout to… just keeps building and taking you on journeys.

Four Tet, "Teenage Birdsong": I love Four Tet; all his music feels like soundtracks. This song from his new album really speaks to me.

Elderbrook, "Numb": “Numb” is about loneliness. I wrote it while I was on tour. It can be pretty lonely traveling around a lot, and that’s what inspired this song. The thing that makes the song and video a bit different is the idea that everyone is lonely, which in a weird way brings us all together.

Fred again..., "Me (Sorry)": Love this track! Fred is an amazing producer having done a lot of mainstream pop records. Love the fact he is showing us something different here. He is a true talent.

Peggy Gou, "Starry Night": She is one of my favorite DJ’s and this is a song to ensure you will be dancing ‘round your house at your self-quarantine party.

Mark Ronson Feat. Yebba, "Don't Leave Me Lonely": Yebba’s voice is just amazing… I am a massive fan of hers and of course of Mark Ronson's production. This is really a personal fav record right now.

Tame Impala, "Lost In Yesterday": Kevin Parker is an amazing vocalist and musician - another big fav of mine at the moment.. Definitely a band and artist I would love to work with someday.

Georgia, "Started Out": Big fan of the production on this record. Georgia has such a unique sound to her voice...

Anderson. Paak Feat. ScHoolboy Q, "Am I Wrong": Just an amazing song to jam around your house to.
