Most dream analysts attest that dreams of being underwater relate to deep emotion and the mysteries of the subconscious. In the case of "Into the Abyss," being submerged also relates to deep bass rumbles courtesy of Zeds Dead and Rezz.

Out now via Deadbeats, the collaborative track -- the first from these two bass world stars -- is a hypnotic and truly dreamlike effort that showcases the best of each artist's abilities, with pummeling beats taking a backseat to more measured bass drops that nonetheless hit as hard as a fever dream. The corresponding video follows a mysterious heroine through the deep woods and under the surface of a lake, where another force takes over.

The release comes ahead of a big summer festival season for both artists, with Rezz playing dates at Bonnaroo, Shambhala, Tomorrowland, myriad international editions of Lollapalooza and returning to Red Rocks this September for the third incarnation of her Rezz Rocks event. Meanwhile, Zeds Dead have EDC Mexico and their own Deadbeats Arizona and Deadrocks VII mini-festival at Red Rocks on the horizon.
