The much-anticipated video game is out Nov. 8.
Ahead of the video game Death Stranding’s much-awaited release on Nov. 8, a new song from its genre-spanning soundtrack has been released.
On the heels of Chvrches’ “Death Stranding” comes “Ghost” from singer/songwriter Au/Ra and producer Alan Walker. It’s the pair’s second collaboration following their 2018 team-up “Darkside,” and the chemistry is palpable in this, with Au/Ra’s forlorn vocals providing an ethereal lightness to Walker’s hip-hop-inflected, bass-heavy production. True to its name, “Ghost” is dark, melancholy, moody -- a brooding reflection upon a person and situation that has since faded away.
Death Stranding, which was developed by iconic Japanese video-game creator Hideo Kojima, finds its main character after the collapse of civilization. According to the game synopsis on the Playstation website, he must “journey across a ravaged landscape crawling with otherworldly threats to save mankind from the brink of extinction.”
