Sonny Fodera has consistently released some of the scene's freshest house music, working audiences into a sweat on dancefloors from his native Australia, across the States and beyond. Today (July 12), Fodera expands his track record with his fourth full-length LP, Rise.
Three years in the making, named for the direction of his current career trajectory and out via his own Solotoko label and Insomniac Records, the album's dozen tracks are an extension of the sleek, sexy house that's made Fodera one of the genre's buzziest names. Rise's hefty crew of guest vocalists include Josh Barry, Sinead Harnett and Lilly Ahlberg, who lends her slinky voice to the album's seductive single "The Moment." The mood on Rise oscillates from such pure dancefloor heat to the more soaring, soulful output on tracks like "Push Them Away" with London-based vocalist Janai.
"I’ve worked in studios all over the world whilst touring and met some incredible people," Fodera tells Billboard Dance. "I’d say a lot of my album is inspired by my experiences of travelling, things I have picked up as inspiration along the way and then taken back to the studio."
