DJs Hubert 'Boom Bass' (Hubert Blanc Francard ) Philippe 'Zdar' (Philippe Cerboneschi) from 'Cassius' band and Pedro Winter attend the 'Justice' New Album Launch Party at Gibus Club on Oct. 23, 2011 Paris.

Friends, family and fans of Cassius have endured a traumatic 24 hours with the news of Philippe Zdar's shock passing, at aged 50.

The French electronic act’s co-founder reportedly fell through a window in Paris, leaving behind a consummate catalogue of “French Touch” works with Cassius, Motorbass and the many acts he and bandmate Boom Bass (real name Hubert Blanc-Francard) produced and recorded with down the years.

Out of tragedy, comes a new, final Cassius album Dreems, which was slated for release Friday (June 21) well before Zdar’s untimely death.

Dreems is a funky, party-rocking set spanning 13 tracks with a running time of more than 90 minutes. It’s the followup to 2017’s Ibifornia, which featured guest appearances by Ryan Tedder, Beastie Boy Mike D, Cat Power, Pharrell Williams and more.

Mike D returns on Dreems, alongside Portugal. The Man’s John Gourley, The Rapture’s Luke Jenner, French singer and songwriter Owlle and more.
