Skrillex is a go-to collaborator for many of pop and hip-hop's finest, but the DJ/producer is gearing up to focus on his own pursuits in 2019 -- even if it doesn't necessarily take the shape of an album.

Friday night (April 19), Skrillex tweeted that, after a "long time off" in which he worked with friends on their projects and "more importantly [him]self," he's finally thinking about releasing new music.

Save for his 2019 releases ("Face My Fears" with Hikaru Utada, which landed on the Billboard Hot 100, and Boys Noize joint "Turn Off The Lights") and his remix of Travis Scott's "SICKO MODE" and two singles ("Agen Wida" off JOYRYDE's Brave and "GOH" with What Not So and KLP) in 2018, Skrillex has kept his turnout at a slow and steady churn for the last two years.

As for albums, his last full-length, Recess, dropped in 2014; his collaboration with Diplo, Jack Ü, released an LP in 2015.

He added that he's going "full speed ahead" with this new chapter, and though he's just getting started, he's ready to dive into it: "this is just the warm up."

If a massive remix of one of 2018's biggest hits and killer sets at major Las Vegas nightclub openings are what he's up to when he's taking it easy, fans should buckle up for what comes next.
