C-Rod feat. Brendan O'Hara, "Stay"
The Miami-based team of producer C-Rod (real name Chris Rodriguez) and featured singer Brendan O'Hara sails seven spots on Dance Club Songs with "Stay" (29-22). It's C-Rod's third hit (and O'Hara's first), following "Beat Don't Stop" (featuring Jason Walker, No. 5, 2013) and "Raise Your Hands" (also featuring Walker, No. 17, 2012). "Stay" was remixed by Dirty Werk, Tony Moran and Cris Wolfe, among others.
Says C-Rod, "'Stay' was one of those songs that grabbed me by my heart. We have all felt that feeling at some point in our lives, and when I heard Brendan sing those first two lines, I knew we had something magical. He sang it in one take and that was it: his true, raw vocal.
"I first saw Brendan performing at an outdoor club venue in the Wynwood District of Miami. Unfortunately, it was raining and the turnout was not great. Regardless, he performed for the few people there with so much passion and emotion; it felt like we were in an outdoor stadium with thousands of people! I waited for him after his set, introduced myself and, the next week, we were in the studio and the song was completed in literally 10 minutes."
O'Hara echoes, "Some things are just meant to be. Meeting C-Rod and collaborating on 'Stay' happened so uniquely and effortlessly. This experience, from working and learning with C-Rod, to making the video and then hearing the remixes in a club...it's just so singular and special."
Feed Me, High Street Creeps
Feed Me (a moniker of British electronic producer Jonathan Gooch) satisfies a hunger for its highest position yet, flying in at No. 2 on Dance/Electronic Album Sales with High Street Creeps. It's the act's seventh charted album and fourth top 10, a run that began with the EP Feed Me's Escape From Electric Mountain (No. 13, 2012). Previously, the act cooked up a No. 3 high with Calamari Tuesday, in 2013.
