Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers go to Mammoth.

Earlier this month, The Chainsmokers debuted a new vlog series called About A Week Ago. Today, we see the second week in their lives, and it's just as intimate a portrait of hard work and even harder fun.

In this episode, we watch singer Drew Taggart go over fan mail with his family and best friend. Try not to swoon when Taggart's sister reads one thoughtful fan's thankful message to their mom and dad. There's a bit of soccar ball kicking and a bit of songwriting, then we get some insight into the song session process. We watch as Taggart builds layers of melodies one on top of the other until a fully-fleshed idea is born.

The meat of the vlog comes from the duo's trip to California's Mammoth Moutntain. Alex Pall explains what it takes to be the world's no. 1 DJ skiier. It's a lot of hard work. You've got to ski two or three times a year -- and break your skis, for sure. It's pretty rad watching the guys ski and snowboard down the slopes. Who doesn't love a good action shot, right?

By the end of this 10-and-a-half minutes, you'll be inspired to write some songs, enjoy some snow sports, or maybe both. Check it out below.
