Diplo is an entertainer constantly on the lookout for fresh talent. He's traveled the world in search of the most unique voices, and when he first heard Dua Lipa's "Be the One" in 2015, he was immediately awestruck. Fast-forward to 2019, and he and Lipa just won a Grammy for best dance/electronic recording for their song "Electricity," a single from the producer's collaborative project Silk City alongside Mark Ronson. Lipa also won the award for best new artist, which prompted him to share their friendship backstory on Instagram.
"She had only jumped out of nowhere, was just starting out, and had a really weird name to me," Diplo writes. "She is a one of a kind of artist that can be on any genre any style."
