Excision Spotlights His Favorite Bass Up-And-Comers

Terrence Blanton/Fadewood Live

Canadian bass behemoth Excision has long been a harbinger of fresh talent. He stacks his festival Lost Lands with premiere talent, both highly-regarded and underground. Even before that, he'd been representing for the young don Dion Timmer quite heavily. He put Getter on a remix in 2014. He's worked closely with Downlink and Space Laces for years. Really, he's always putting his flashlight out into the ether, looking to see what sparkles back.

He starts 2019 in good faith, too, taking time to highlight some of his favorite new voices with a series of tweets. He's really feeling Wooli's dynamic style, Kompany's consistency, and Yookie's unbridled uniqueness.

Check out the rest of his calls for bass fame in 2019 below, and of course, watch to see if these names pop up at Lost Lands 2019.

"Wooli has had so many dope tunes this past year," Excision tweets. "I’m loving his full range of styles from melodic anthems like 'Falling' to raging bangers like his new Mammoth EP."

"Hesh is a sick producer that has been a staple in my sets for the past year," Excision tweets. "From 'Mike Tyson' to 'Hit a Lick,' to his remix of 'Hoods Up,' his tracks are sure to get a big reaction. See you at The Thunderdome bro."

"Kompany is one of the most consistent producers I know," Excision tweets. "There’s no hit or miss with this guy! From 'Purge' to 'Stomp' to 'Buck' to 'Rapture' (and a collection of ID’s), my sets always have a bunch of Kompany tracks."

"Chime is one of the most chill and geniune humans I've met lately," Excision tweets. "Not only that, but he is super talented and produces some of the best melodic and uplifting dubstep in the game."

"I've been extremely impressed with Carbin both in his diversity and consistency," Excision tweets. "I've been dropping his tracks for a while, but recently I've been really digging 'Twenty-2-Life' & 'Flexin.'"

"I've been following Tynan for a while now and am blown away by his diversity," Excision tweets. "His track 'Terminal' has such a big & unique sound, it absolutely murdered the crowd when I dropped it at Lost Lands."

"Yookie are two hilarious dudes that have been producing some of the most unique tracks in Bass Music," Excision tweets. "They have a very distinct sound and are not scared to create and drop the heaviest shit you've heard."

"Ubur is quickly making a name for himself," Excision tweets. "I've been so impressed by his sound design as it's always so crisp and clean yet monstrously heavy and dope. Anyone who likes straight up filthy dubstep should check out his Double U EP."
