Two Friends Release Dance-Pop Bop 'Take It Off': Exclusive

Two Friends

Imagine being best friends with someone since 7th grade and then starting a DJ/production duo together. Heck, let's call it Two Friends. That's what life is like for Eli Sones and Matt Halper, who are coming off a strong year that included a slew of sold out shows and the rollout of their cheeky Third Friend concept where fans can literally apply to be Two Friends' "Third Friend" and be added to the group's personal guest list for a certain show.

The two are continuing to build off their momentum with "Take It Off," a dance-pop jam that is ideal for any kickback and, according to the guys, "is about being with someone that is closed off because of past relationships."

Sones and Halper tell Billboard, "All you want to do is scream ‘TRUST ME!’ but it’s not that easy to let their guard down when they’ve done the same thing before and it’s messed them up. It’s always a musical challenge to write from the opposite gender’s perspective, but we think this song can relate to anyone that’s been in a relationship with someone closed off.”

Two Friends were featured in Billboard Dance's monthly discovery series, Ones To Watch, back in Feburary 2018 and have certainly come a long way since then. The group recently embarked on their With My Homies headline tour and recently sold out back-to-back nights at Irving Plaza in New York, along with Concord Music Hall in Chicago.
