Gesaffelstein & The Weeknd, "Lost in the Fire"

If the recent teaser for Gesaffelstein's collaboration with The Weeknd has you expecting some hard, devious, sexual evil, stop right there. "Lost In The Fire" -- out today (Jan. 11) -- is not the beastly banger you're expecting. It's nothing like the French producer's lead single "Reset." Instead, it's a slow R&B groove with a soft undercurrent of disco. Go into this with as little expectation as possible and you'll have the most fun with it.

That being said, "Lost In The Fire" is a good hook. It's the kind of song that gets stuck in your head. We'll probably be really into it once we've heard it three times. Maybe it's a grower and not a shower, but speaking of showing, it does come paired with a very fashionable, dark toned music video that features The Weeknd pulling some slick moves while Gesaffelstein hangs eerily in the background doing his best impression of Metal Cap Mario from the 64 days.

"Lost In The Fire" is the second single hypin' up Gesaffelstein's forthcoming album HyperionIt's due out sometime soon, though we aren't sure exactly when. The rare performer is set to hit the stage at Coachella in 2019.
