One Dead, Others Hospitalized at Australian Dance Music Festival

Knockout 2018 Games of Destiny, a Sydney hardstyle event, was marred this weekend by the fatal suspected overdose of a 19-year-old man, according to a report by ABC Australia.

The two-day event saw 13 people hospitalized and more than 100 attendees treated for a variety of medical conditions. According to the report, two women and another man were taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. There were five drug-related arrests made, with one woman in possession of 400 MDMA pills.

Festival organizers warned attendees about high temperatures during the event via social media. It advised dancers to drink plenty of water from its free stations and take advantage of free water bottles at the bars. Billboard Dance reached out to the event team for additional comment.
