Amtrac Sings on 'Madness to Mayhem,' Announces Return to Live Performances: Listen

Danielle Walsh
Amtrac

Old-school Amtrac fans who've been there since the beginning will tell you: The dude is one helluva live performer. His debut album Came Along featured serious songwriting chops, and the tour that accompanied it was just as impressive. That was back in 2011, and in the years since, he's proven himself a master of all kinds of moods. At the start of 2017, he launched his label Openers as a means to give other cool artists a platform, but in 2019, he's taking back the spotlight and bringing it to his live roots.

Amtrac picks up the mic for "Madness to Mayhem," a song that seems to bridge the gap between his Came Along days and the moody blues of his present. There's a ghostly air to its smooth house groove as the Kentucky-bred gentleman reminds us that the dance floor is always there for us in this crazy world.

“This is something new but not unfamiliar to my fans," Amtrac tells Billboard Dance. "Not really for the club but something you can still dance too. I have a lot of music in the works that's in a similar vein and excited to launch a live show late next year.”

The single is a first taste of things to come, as Amtrac finishes work on his second album with another live tour to follow in 2019. "Madness to Mayhem" is out now on Amtrac's label Openers. Listen to it below.
