Bass behemoth Carnage is the latest DJ to open up about his mental and physical health needs. The 27-year-old Guatemalan entertainer announced on Twitter that he's taking the suggestion of his doctors seriously and bowing out of the spotlight in order to get his body and mind right.

"This year has been really tough on me," he writes. "I can't ignore the warning signs ... I need to slow the f-ck down ... I need time to really sit down and work on my mental and physical health but most importantly my craft."

Carnage cited the recent passing of friends and peers as a serious wake-up call. He joins a chorus of DJs and producers who have made a point of speaking openly about mental health issues. Illenium recently opened up about addiction and depression. Hardwell took a break from touring to focus on himself, and deadmau5 most recently stepped away from social media while he gets his mental health in order.
