Crooked Colours aren’t deviating from their own path. The Australian electronic trio are in the midst of a three-week tour of North America, in support of their forthcoming sophomore album, due out in 2019.

Hailing from Perth, Crooked Colours is on the way up Down Under, where they’re filling 2,000-capacity rooms. And they’re confirmed to the lineup for the touring Laneway festival off the back of Vera, their June 2017 debut LP which earned an AIR Award nomination for best independent dance/electronica album or EP.

The first taste of the new album arrived in August with ‘I’ll Be There.” The second track from it, “Do It Like You,” is a funky, body-moving tune and it premieres today on ahead of its wide release on Thursday.

Taking their show to the world is a natural progression, explains Crooked Colours’ Leon De Baughn. “Our first ever shows in Canada were amazing,” he tells Billboard. “It's such an unreal feeling to fly literally to the other side of the world from Perth and have people singing our lyrics back to us. Can't wait to get this new one out.”

“Do It Like You” was written on the road whilst the band toured Europe earlier this year, band mate Philip Slabber tells Billboard, “and it was the first track we wrote that really encompassed the sound we were chasing for the second record.”

Having only played locally prior to their debut, Crooked Colours embarked on their first overseas jaunt in late 2017, taking in sold-out shows in Los Angeles, New York, London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm and elsewhere.

The current trek stopped by Toronto and Montreal, New York’s Bowery Ballroom, Suwannee Hulaween festival in Florida, and continues Thursday night (Nov. 1) in the Constellation Room at the Observatory in Santa Ana.

Signed to Sydney-based label Sweat It Out, Crooked Colours return home later this month for a spot on the Castaway Festival in Perth, followed by appearances at Sunsets Festival, Rhythm & Alps fest in New Zealand and the Laneway run.
