International trio Major Lazer has always had strong roots in the Caribbean islands, but its recent Afrobeats mix proves the riddim monster knows its way around humanity's birth continent. The 30-minute megamix featured ill tracks from artists far and wide, representing Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria and more. It also featured some new tunes from Major Lazer with African vocalists, including mix intro beater "Orkant/Balance Pon It" featuring South Africa's Babes Wodumo.
It's a lively, beat-driven warehouse jam that packs serious smoky heat. It just got its own music video, too, directed by fellow South African Adriaan Louw (who also directed Major Lazer's "Particula" clip). It was filmed on location in the country's coastal city of Durban and highlights many aspects of the city's local flavor.
