You don't have to be a famous DJ or star athlete to "Be Somebody." You don't need anything to stand out but a dream and a tireless will to chase it. The road to success is crowded with naysayers, but if you keep your head up and focus on your goal, there's almost nothing you can't achieve.

Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero are famous producers, but they still face haters who'd sooner tell them to quit than keep going. They never listen, and they continue to thrive, and they share that message of positive self-empowerment with singer Kiiara on their synth-driven collaboration "Be Somebody," which dropped today (Sept. 7).

"Steve and I have been perfecting the sound on this record for over a year and I can’t wait for the world to hear the result,” Romero said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to have Kiiara grace us with her amazing voice."

The track opens with a cool synth melody, subtle in composition, as Kiiara paints the picture of a dreamer on the edge. She may be her only cheerleader, but she's going to run headfirst into the finish line whether anyone cares or not. The beat grows alongside our singer's confidence until it hits a bouncy climax that's more club radio than festival frenzy.

“I love working with Nicky, both of us are so in sync,” Aoki added. “'Be Somebody' is a great example of us coming together as a creative force. Kiiara’s vocals are phenomenal and she seamlessly portrays the message of the song.”

Kiiara, too, said it was "an honor" to work on the tune. "Be Somebody" is out now. Keep your eyes peeled for Aoki's forthcoming Neon Future III album in November, and a quick follow-up Neon Future IV in spring of 2019. Listen to "Be Somebody" below.
