DJ/producer Alesso will become the latest artist to sign an exclusive global recording contract with Universal Music Group’s fledgling 10:22 pm imprint, Billboard Dance can exclusively announce.

The Swedish star follows actor, singer and YouTube star Lele Pons in signing with 10:22 pm in a partnership between UMG's new label and Shots Studios, the Los Angeles entertainment company to which both Alesso and Pons are signed.

Alesso's inaugural release on the label, "Remedy," will arrive on Friday, Aug. 31 with a video directed by fellow Shots Studios signee Rudy Mancuso, who also directed the horizontal video for Pons' 10:22 pm debut, "Celoso."

Alesso will debut the single live during his performance for Good Morning America's Summer Concert Series in New York's Central Park, ahead of the artist's co-headlining closing set at the city's Electric Zoo music festival on Sunday, Sept. 2.

“I always strive to create music that feels a year ahead, and “Remedy” sounds like 2019 already to me," says Alesso. "So launching the track and creating future progressive music, with such a progressive team is a perfect fit for me.”

Celine Joshua, UMG's general manager, commercial, content and artist strategy who founded and oversees 10:22 pm, hails Alesso as "a global superstar whose music transcends any borders or genre" who is "constantly pushing his sound and performance."

Alesso's signing comes on the heels of a 2017 campaign that boasted a top-40 Billboard Hot 100 hit in "Let Me Go," with Hailee Steinfeld featuring Florida Georgia Line and Watt, and a Brazilian hit in his Anitta-assisted single, "Is That For Me."

"Watching Alesso work is an experience unlike anything else," says John Shahidi, co-founder and chief executive officer of Shots Studios.. “He is so focused on making incredible music, pushing himself to be better every day."

"We love the music he is creating right now,” adds Sam Shahidi, co-founder and chief creative officer of Shots Studios. “It is emotional, beautiful, and timeless. I am proud of how hard he has been working this year in the studio and at his shows."
