David Guetta's Anne-Marie Collab 'Don't Leave Me Alone' Gets a Club Remix: Exclusive
David Guetta spent his summer spinning club beats for house heads on the White Isle. His recent releases may be pop-forward, melodic-hook catchers, but his nights at the helm of Ibiza's Pacha and Ushuaia see him set groove seeking missiles on the dance floor.
That late-night environment must have inspired him to give his Anne-Marie collaboration "Don't Leave Me Alone" a brooding house remix, just one in a package deal of reworks on the single due for full release Friday (Aug. 17).
"Don't Leave Me Alone," the original, is a balance of bright melodies and down-tempo feeling. Anne-Marie tells of a love so necessary, it hurts. For the remix, Guetta moves the storyline to the background, focusing on a mantra-esque vocal about the toll of loneliness on the human soul. It's miles clubbier than the original, almost a throwback to his mid-aught style.
Guetta's remix of "Don't Leave Me Alone" is set to be released beside three more remixes from R3hab, Sidney Samson and Tom Staar. The full package is out Friday, Aug. 17, but you can listen to Guetta's moody blues below one day early, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
