Poppy Teases Diplo Collaboration With Futuristic Image

Poppy, the esoteric, award-winning YouTube phenomenon and pop artist, is just about ready to share her “futuristic” collaboration with Diplo.

Overnight, Poppy (also known as That Poppy) posted what appears to be a screengrab from a sci-fi themed music video, with the message, “Poppy + Diplo 8/22.” In the snap (see below), Poppy is sat bolt upright in what appears to be a hospital bed with electrode patches attached to each temple. Of course, this being Poppy, the clinical locale could be her living room.

Poppy has a deal with Diplo’s Mad Decent, which stocks and sells her 2017 album Poppy.Computer and a range of merch, including backpacks and the fetching “'Poppy Is Not Signed To Mad Decent' t-shirt.

The 23-year-old Massachusetts native is a bona-fide YouTube star and Streamy Award-winner, with more than 300 million views on her channel and three studio albums to her name. Her next, Am I A Girl? will feature collaborations with Diplo and Grimes, she recently told NME. "Diplo brought his dance beats. I wanted to work with Diplo for a long time," she said. The collab will be the followup to the album's lead single "In A Minute," which dropped July 27."The song that I have with Diplo is coming out next. It's very futuristic sounding," she added.

See you next Wednesday.
