Dua Lipa and Mark Ronson Tease Silk City Collaboration 'Electricity': 'Coming Pretty Soon'
Mark Ronson first let slip about Silk City's Dua Lipa collaboration in an interview with The Times. The producer was quoted calling it "a belter," "spiritual piano house music like they used to make." The song includes writing credits from The xx's Romy Madley Croft, but it wasn't the Silk City's next single. Ronson and his partner Diplo followed that tease with "Feel About You" feat. Mapei, but the Lipa collab isn't forgotten. In fact, it's next up, and it's coming "pretty soon."
The UK singer then took to Instagram to do some flame-fanning of her own. She posted a cool pic of her checkerboard nails with the caption, "Her name is Electricity... and you’ll meet her soon enough." We know from The Times interview that "Electricity" is the name of the Silk City song. Ronson came through with a repost of Lipa's image and his own promise of things to come.
Lipa is a hot commodity in the dance music scene. She had an early hit with Martin Garrix in 2017 with "Scared To Be Lonely," and her Calvin Harris collaboration "One Kiss" continues to dominate summer radio. She even appeared with Whethan on "High" for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack. We're looking forward to hearing her do house music soul with the Silk City boys. It'll be the duo's fourth single since it's debut "Only Can Get Better" with Daniel Merriweather earlier this year, following the sudden release of "Loud" with Desiigner and Goldlink.
